Week 4....

Its been four weeks without my parents and friends from home, but im still happy.
Sure one really bad thing about being at this school is not having the people that mean the most to you
around all the time. What makes it all better is that there's great people here too. I've made good friends and I've had lots of fun here at the academy. The classes are great too, I get to do all the things I love. I get to study and learn new things about DNA every week, build things with my own hands and creat great drawings. I really like it here, the only thing I dont like is the homework , it brings me down even if its easy. I hope this week goes by slowly because sure this place is great but thats not what I'm going to miss, its the people and the fun times I've had with them. But I also cant wait to get back home and share my experience with my friends and family.

tick tock tick tock

I cant beleive we have less than 2 weeks left. I've made so many friends and Im going to miss them so much. im also going to miss my teachers. This was a great experiece. I hope everyone takes something worthwhile back with them. Also thanks to everyone who made this possible for us.

So Fast

Well I've just reached the end of my third week here at Exeter and things are going really great. I've made a lot of friends from all around the world and it's been really cool learning about them and where they come from. My dorm is really nice and so is my roommate. Even the laundry is pretty easy now. Everything is going really great but it's almost over now. We're already talking about the ways that we will leave and there are only two weeks left in the session. But it's been great so far and I know that it will continue to be so for the remainder of my time here.

Time flies

I told everyone before i left that the 5 weeks would go by quick. I myself didnt believe that but it helped me know that they wouldnt miss me as much because it would be a quick return. I have now learned the hard way that the time does go by pretty fast. My friends and I were speaking about how it feels like we barely know each other and now its almost time to leave. Im going to miss everything BUT the homework. I am blogging now to delay my doing of the dreaded homework. It has been an excellent experience so far and im hoping these two last weeks are really awesome so i can have more stories to share when i get back home.

Almost over

I can't believe it's been more than three weeks at Exeter! Everything is going by so fast! I had a fun time at exeter. My cluster got to go to see the blue man group, Captin America and cool museums. I also got to go to Water Country which was also fun. I'm also excited to go to the final dance. I had made many friends here that I don't want to leave them anymore. Well, it was a nice experience while it lasted, I hope the weeks would pass slower than faster. I was a fun experience I will never want to give away.

My First Week at Exeter

This first week was great. I met alot of interseting pepole form places all over the world. I met some pepole from Hong Kong, Italy, Mexico, Germany and even Turkey. At first I thought I would have nothing to talk about with them, but we have alot in things in common. For example we all LOVE HARRY POTTER and plan to go see it once the tickets are out. Also being hear has defiently opened my mind to try news things and learn from the pepole around me. People have all these stereotypes about where the friends I've made come from and its just not ture. Its the same way pepole have stereotypes about what its like to be an American. Overall its a great learning experience and the pepole hear are great. I cant wait to see what the rest of the summer has in store for me!

Awsome summer

I really loving this this school and the town around it.I went to dinner with some of my friends and ordered take out to. Most of the restraunts around here know my dorm so, that has to do with the fact that my dorm is orinially a boys dorm during the regular year. But it is still cool and I really like my language class. I really like my schedule too because I don't have an A format or C,D format. I barily miss my mom. I don't feel a lot of homesickness but I miss my mom's cooking. I wish could have come here during the regular year.

A Week Already Here

Sorry I haven't been on the blog for a long time but I've been having such a fun time here so I had forgot all about it. Well, in the first week I felt alittle werid in my class because there were 14 guys out of 16 kids in my class. But, I still enjoy my classes as if it were a equal amount of male and female ( I'm in the problem solving cluster) I have been making a lot of friends from in and out of my doorm. It were as if I already had known them from my life before coming here. I have enjoyed the trips there were so far, I had a great time at the carnival, dancing like crazy. I have really been enjoying myself here. At first I thought I was going to get home sick but I didn't, I didn't even have the slightest feeling of saddness ( really weird) maybe it's because it's so wonderful here. I signed myself in an awesome sport (tennis) and I'm going to start signing myself to trips. Well, I've got to go!!

The experience has been way better than i expected.

I'll be honest, if it wasn't for the homework i get every night, this would be the life. I have my friends close by and free food. So much to do in one day and great people to share the experiences with. I'm not home sick but i do miss my family. It is weird being without them for so long. I know the weeks will go by fast but i don't want them to!

Important info about CASH at Exeter

I just e-mailed this to all of you. I was frustrated to learn about a new policy this summer that they forgot to tell me about before I met you in NYC! Be sure to reply to my e-mail like it says to below, if you haven't already.

 Hi Summer Scholars.

There's been a change at Exeter Summer School this summer that I wasn't aware of when I met with you in NYC. It's about money. You need to tell your parents about it right away.

--As always, the money that went into a spending account for you here (from your families or maybe your schools) can be used to buy books, trips, and snacks at the Grill on campus using your ID card. That's most of the buying you'll need to do. Any money you don't spend from that account gets returned where it came from (to your family or school).

--What's new is that
you CAN'T get cash with those ID cards. They're only good for buying things on campus. Any cash you want to bring to campus has to come with YOU, or else you need a prepaid debit card, a parent's ATM card, or a parent's credit card in order to buy stuff off campus.

Here's what you might need cash for:

1) Snacks off campus (in town) [approx $30]
2) Spending at the optional off-campus excursions (snacks at Water Country, stuff at a mall, etc.) [approx $20]
3) For Access Exeter students, snacks or souvenirs on your weekend trips off-campus with your cluster [approx. $20]
4) The bus ride home (if you're taking a bus back to NYC at the end of the summer) [approx $30]

If all four of those apply to you, I'd estimate $100 total (maybe a bit more) is a good amount to have in cash (or prepaid card, or parent's card). Remember that your family can get back leftover money on the ID card system to balance out this cash you'll be bringing with you.

I'm sorry about the last-minute news; I just found out about this change today! Apparently it was mentioned in the info that went to your parents, but I know I didn't discuss it when I met you in NYC.

Please reply now, just to let me know you got the message, and show it to your parents right away!
